Diwali, the most important festival for over 1 billion Hindus and around 40,000 in Switzerland, strengthens community and is celebrated with gifts. Perhaps you too can make someone in your neighborhood happy. At the same time, Hindus need our prayers – as do Christian minorities, who often live their faith under pressure. Many AEM missions are active in Hindu regions. We pray that Hindus will recognize Jesus Christ, the light of the world, and find his peace. The annual prayer booklet encourages intercession. The prayer period begins on the Sunday before Diwali and ends 15 days later.

The world of Buddhism comprises 22 countries with around 1.29 billion followers. The main forms – Theravada, Mahayana and Tibetan Buddhism – are characterized by different traditions. Both Tibetan and other Buddhist communities are represented in Switzerland. This invites you to get to know their religious background and to pray for them.

Muslims are people whom God created in his image. Jesus also died for them on the cross. That is why we want to pray for the Islamic world for 30 days every year, specifically during Ramadan, so that Muslims can encounter the Jesus of the Bible, the spiritual power of the Gospel and the real work of the Word of God.
